Captain Dave Walker
Captain Dave Walker was born and raised in South Tampa and has
fished these waters for over 30 years. He has caught fish
from Pensacola to Jacksonville and just about everywhere in
between. His favorite type of fishing is catching snook on the flats.
Dave fishes with live bait exclusively (when available) except
during the winter and uses only light tackle. He loves the
outdoors, surfing, cooking and quality time with his wife and
daughter. He hates big cities, traffic jams, yucky people and
sweet potatoes. Captain Dave has a bachelors degree in business
administration and a minor in psychology obtained from Flagler
College in St. Augustine. He has been a full time fishing guide
for over six years and still loves fishing as much as possible.
Dave was an active volunteer at the Florida Aquarium for over 2000
hours. He helped with the educational outreach program,
which targeted emotionally handicapped or inner city youths.
He also led adult guided walking tours throughout the Weedon
Island Preserve. He also worked for the Florida Fish and Wild
life Conservation Commission for seven years. There he helped
with the Urban Pond Project and participated in many children’s
fishing events.
